Leadership Vision
I believe leadership is borne from a synergy between competency, passion, and understanding. It is a skill that is found inside us all - one we are all capable of developing. Yet, it likewise is a constant choice - an action, that has and must always remain, by its very nature, other-centered and service-oriented. It is as if leadership were a fire that burns from within, is ignited by what is outside, and seeks not to destroy, to hurt, or to scare, but rather to light and empower whatever it is it ought to and could. This type of empathetic, mindful, and service-oriented leadership is what I aspire to develop in myself and in others as well.
Project Description
Project Ligaya is founded on the belief that the access to basic needs such as electricity and water is a basic human right. The project seeks to create and deploy an off-grid water filtration system in a community in the Philippines. By doing so, it seeks to provide the members of the community with immediate and sustainable access to renewable electricity and potable water.
