To me, leadership requires treating compassion not as a secondary emotion, but as a deliberate choice in how we care for ourselves, others, and the work we do together.
Most of us enter social impact work fueled by compassion, only to see it sidelined by the relentless pressure to deliver. The weight of the mission can lead to a quiet depletion and erosion of trust, where urgency replaces the care that brought us here. YCompassion’s mission is to re-anchor our work in the very thing that started this journey: compassion. We facilitate cohort-based learning and leadership labs for global changeworkers to integrate compassion as an evidence-based practice in day-to-day leadership. By doing so, we work towards restoring dignity, strengthening our collective resilience, and creating positive change that stays.
