I look at good leadership as a huge banyan tree - in whose shade other trees may grow and find their roots and become shade-giving trees themselves, with a gentle collective audacity to transform into a force of nature.

I believe a good leader is someone who might not have all the answers, but who asks the right questions. One can have good intentions for the world at large, but impactful leaders can be the channel to direct and mould this intention into action.

The ‘Dance for PD’ India program is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) through the power of dance. Adapted from the internationally acclaimed Dance for Parkinson’s approach developed by the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group, the program has been specially tailored for Indian audiences and blends movement, music, and creative expression.

For many, the program has become a space of laughter, resilience, renewed energy, and most importantly - one of community and connection. As the first certified Dance for PD institute in India, Avartan Dance Foundation continues to pioneer this therapeutic art form nationally. Through regular classes, outreach sessions, and facilitator training, we aim to bring together dancers, healthcare professionals, and families to build a growing movement for embodied wellbeing, dignity, and inclusion.
